Yes vs. No

Is it okay for someone to have multiple nicknames? We're strongly considering Georgiana Capri for our daughter, but our list of nicknames is lengthy(Gigi, George, Geo, Anya, Ginny, and Annie). We can't imagine calling her all of them, but more than one, and we assume family members and friends will also give her different nicknames. Our dilemma comes with our boys, Peyton Montgomery and Breck Bradbury. They don't have nicknames, so we're hesitant about baby girl having too many nickname possibilities. Please let us know. Thank you!

Usually family and friends take the parents direction in using nicknames or not. I really do not think it matters whether your boys have nicknames or not. If you love the name you have chosen for your daughter go for it.

I think sometimes a couple of nns can make sense (Ginny and Gigi for Virginia, for example) b/c one is often more formal than the other. Beyond that, I think it can get confusing … for all.

My guess is that when she arrives one or two nicknames will naturally stick and the rest will fall by the wayside. I would use the name you love and not let this worry you.

It's fine. I have went by my given name and two nicknames my whole life. I like it.

I hit "no" by accident!
I'm Abbie Kate, Abbie, Ab, and Abs, so I definitely don't see anything wrong with a couple nicknames. I wouldn't worry too much about it and go with what comes naturally.
