I ADORE how uncommon and unique Branwen/Branwyn is for a girl, but I want to use the more acceptable spelling here in the States.

Either spelling is acceptable. Personally I like to look of Branwyn for a girl, but I have a friend whose name is spelled like that, so I may be biased. It just looks more feminine to my eyes. She goes by Wyn or Wynnie for short.

I have never known anyone named Branwen. I know only one Bronwyn (woman).

I've never met anyone with this name but I think it's very pretty! I've heard (on here) about the 'rule' in regards to Welsh name endings but I haven't a clue.
I'm in the States and have yet to meet anyone with this name, so I'm guessing that either spelling will be "new" to whomever she meets. Might as well go with the original.
