Marlowe or Meredith would be far more attractive. But, if not, spell it Merritt.

The only person I've ever met with this name spelled it Merit, and though she did have to correct people occasionally, she always seemed to be proud of her beautiful name!

Merritt is cute. Nothing wrong with it on a girl. I've never heard it on a boy.

Only ever heard this on a guy, thought it was lame then, worse on a girl. Sorry but there are more attractive virtue names.
