What if think you named him Mike and called him Mikey so when he is a adult it will sound more grown up and when he signs checks it would look better?

Your poor child. He will never sound like a man. I agree with the post about at least putting Mike on his birth certificate. How ridiculous to name someone who will eventually be a man, possibly a professional, "Mikey"...

Mikey is very childish. I agree that Mike should be his acctual name. He may get Mike anyway, as he ages because I wouldn’t be comfortable calling someone my age Mikey. I can’t picture a 50yrs old man going by Mikey.

I have named my boy Mikey and absolutely love it :) There is no ’poor child’s about it. It’s a beautiful name.
