Lindy vs. Lindie
My moms name is Linda and I'm due with a daughter. My mom has always been my rock, I want to name my daughter after her. I like Lindy/Lindie, I like Lindy but my husband likes Lindie. First which spelling do you prefer? Also does it feel to much like a nickname? If so what could be a full name? I dont want a second Linda because I want her name to be her own but I also dont want to lose the closeness of being tied to her grandma Linda.

Lindy is a legit spelling. I've never seen it spelled Lindie. I think it could probably be used as a standalone but it wouldn't be my personal preference.
Caitlin or Lindsay or Linnea/Linnaea might be good options to consider.

Lindy is darling. I don't think she needs a fuller name, especially because most fuller options offer other nicknames. I wouldn't want to risk her being called something else since you adore Lindy and who it's honoring.

I think Lindy is the best spelling.
Lindy is fine. If you want a fuller name, the names suggested are good. I wouldn't worry about her being called something else. You or she will tell people she's called Lindy and they'll comply.

Not Belinda. My friend, shortened hers to Linda because she hated it. I think Lindsey is the best suggestion. But Lindy is fine as a stand alone name. But I have a friend named Lindy.

It does seem like a nickname. I was going to suggest Melinda or Belinda, but I see that others already have. There's also Rosalind. Lucinda nn Lindy could also work.
