Tristan Alexander is gorgeous.

Not a fan of Rourke. Is it a family name? I would be concerned that it would turn into "dork".

Tristan Alexander gmv. Very handsome. Love it.

If Rourke is a family surname then Tristan Rourke would be nice. If not, then I'm back to Tristan Alexander. Good luck! :0)

Rourke is Irish. Nickname would be Rory.

Love Tristan too. Just worried it is too soft of a name for a boy.

"Soft" names are fine for boys. There is nothing wrong with Tristan. I actually prefer softer names for boys (eg.Gabriel, Julian, Sebastian ). I'd rather not be hit over the head with any of the macho alternatives (Ace, Maverick, Gunner, Bronson).

Tristan isn't soft and soft doesn't exist with names. Tristan is a boy name and so are most unisex names.

Tristan always makes me think of the movie Legends Of The Fall, it's a favorite. :)

@G - yes, I believe "softer" male names do exist. "Soft" refers mostly to the sound and/or look of the name. Unfortunately, many people have an aversion to this type of male name in the belief that softness equates to weakness. However, the same people wouldn't hesitate to use traditionally male names for girls. There is a double standard at play and some individuals aren't even aware of their own bias.

Many baby websites as often post lists of these "softer" boy names with the word on their subject line.
