Honoring vs. Sarah

Hi guys, So my husband and I are expecting our first baby this October, a little girl, and having a hard time picking a name. My husband REALLY wants to name her after his mom, Sarah. I love the name, but I want my daughter to have her own name. I've talked with my husband and he's not thrilled, but willing to compromise on a name similar that could honor her. I really need help figuring out a name that works. Thank you in advance!

You could use a diminutive of Sarah such as Sadie, Sally or Sarina. I also like Sarai — a name that came before Sarah.

Another idea would be to find a name that shares the same meaning as Sarah (princess).

Use Sarah as the middle name and give her her own first name. That way you both win.
