I want to name my son Luke. Just Luke, not Lucas and my family finds this weird. I think Luke is a name on its own. What do you think, is it weird to name my son just Luke and not Lucas?

Luke is a name on it’s own! And it’s a great one...very handsome and not used much these days! I say go for it, and don’t worry about what you’re family is saying!

It’s not weird at all. Luke is a perfectly fine name on its own. It’s a nice, masculine name that you don’t hear everyday.

Well, I actually prefer Lucas with the nn Luke. It’s not weird to go with only Luke, just a little less formal. It’s your call.

I’ve wanted to name my first boy Luke, and I never even considered it be short for Lucas, actually! It’s fine!
