Elys (Ellis) vs. Elys (ee-liss) vs. Elys (ee-liz)

How would you pronounce the name Elys? We aren't so keen on the pronunciation of "Ellis" so would like the general consensus to see if anyone would pronounce differently anyway! Thanks!

I voted for the second option but I quite honestly haven't a clue. To me, it looks like an incomplete version of Elyse. Like you missed a letter.

It's the Cornish form of Elizabeth (so no not common at all)! From what I've researched it's a real mixed bag but it's been more of a mix of ell-iss or el-liz

I would pronounce it Ellis or Elise but never the other ones unless told specifically. You might like Eirlys which is Welsh and means snowdrop "IRE-liss". Good luck!

Which way is it supposed to be said? I've seen Alys with -iss ending and Rhys with -eese ending, so without ever having seen this name before, I'd guess either el-iss or el-eese.
