I prefer Agatha to Agnes. It's a solid classic with a good meaning. The person I immediately thought of was writer Agatha Christie.
Agatha makes me think of a sweet little blonde girl.

Sorry but I don't like either of them. They just sound so…old-school. Not in a good way. That is, not like some neglected classic names (ie, Leticia, Eleanor, Gwendolyn, Rosalind). Modern associations such as Agnes from Despicable Me movies are just not enough to modernize the name. Just can't imagine a little girl or any young woman named Agnes or Agatha

I read the mysteries of Agatha Christie growing up so she is the first person I think of with the name. Bewitched Actress Agnes Moorehead is the person I associate with that name.
