Callahan is the first name, no question. Callahan might not be a typical choice for a girl's name, but it's the name I've chosen for my child, boy or girl. I've always liked using last names as first names. It's not everyone's style, but it's my choice.

I suppose she could go by Callie. Is Callahan a surname from your family or just a surname you like?
As much as I like Shelby, if I saw Callahan Shelby, I would assume it was a boy. I prefer Hayley to Hadley for the H option. I really like Shoshana.

I prefer to focus on the middle names rather than the first name. You're entitled to your opinions about Callahan for a girl, but I will use it anyway. It's my baby, and his or her first name is my choice.
