Grey for vs. Girl middle name?

Hi, I'm wondering if my mom's maiden name, Grey would work for a little girls middle name? We have always wanted to use Grey but we are only having one child so we can't "save it" for a boy. We haven't chosen a first name yet so drop your fav classic and/or old lady names. style girl names! Names we can't use (but love) are Lucy and Eloise as they are nieces.

Never been a fan of Grey, must since its family and as long as it stays in the middle, it's tolerable.

I absolutely adore Gray/Grey. I know a few boys named Gray and a few girls who have Grey as their middle name. My friend is Celina Grey and I think it's lovely.

I think Grey is fine in the middle spot especially when it has special meaning as a family name. I think a longer name would work best with the one syllable Grey. Since

While I can't fathom the popularity of Grey, you have a legitimate connection to the name and I have no problem at all with family surnames in the middle name spot.
