I'm expecting a little girl and love the nickname Benny for her, but to me, it's too nickname-y and she's needs a formal name. I also want something that's inherently more feminine because her middle name will be Shepherd- a family name. Thank you.

I think Benny is darling! First thought was Bernadette, but Bernadette Shepherd is long. Maybe Belinda?

^ Benny is a nickname. You're acting like it's being used as a full name. Girls can have - and are allowed - boy nicknames. Not everthing about girls has to be girly, including nicknames. Geez.
