How to say vs. This name vs. Kai

This name Kai which means Sea in Hawaiian and Nickname in some countries. Would you pronounce it like the letter K or with an EYE sound. I'm sure both are correct I'm just asking as I am want to see what others think. I'm from the UK and would say Kai as the letter K.

I'm in the US, East Coast. I've only ever heard it said rhyming with eye, like the name Kyle without the L sound at the end. I know several kids with the name/nickname and they all pronounce it with the long I sound. If we wanted a name sounding like the letter K, we'd write it Kay and it would be a girl's name. Kai is usually a boy's name but I do know one young woman named Kai.

I've never heard Kai pronounced like the letter "k". I agree with above. The correct pronunciation is KIE.

It would likely get pronounced like eye. If you want to get the Kay pronunciation I would spell it Kay or Kaye.

I am a female and my name is pronounced like K, but it is spelled Kae.

If you want the prn K suggest Kay, Kae, Kaye. Afraid Kai is pronounce ki.

Kay is a girls name that rhymes with day.
