Griffin is a masculine given name of Welsh origin, meaning "lord" or "prince" not "killer bird" which btw wasnt exacty a bird in myth.

I think August & Griffin sound fine for twins boys. I like Gus & Finn too. You already have Rory and Dexter. Mama, you are outnumbered! Good luck to you!

I don't care for the names personally. Rory and Dexter are less formal names, so going with something like August (pompous) doesn't really seem to fit the vibe of the other names. Though there's no rule that says sibling names have to be of one style.

I don't get the comment about August being "pompous" 🤔 I personally think all the names go well together. August and Griffin make a nice twin set imo. Gus and Finn are adorable nicknames too. You may also like Auggie as a nickname. Best of luck!

Names don't have to fit a "vibe". Names have to be loved by the person therefore it "fits.
