I knew a cruel Lillian in childhood so that negative experience certainly tainted the name for me.

Maxine gmv. Elegance and fun all rolled up in one name. Love it.

I'm not crazy about the nn Max for it though. What about Mina, Mia, Mimi or Xena / Xina / Zina? Good luck! :0)

I actually do like Mia and Xina as potential nicknames. Max wasn't growing on me either but I thought since it's the most common nickname it had to work. Glad Maxine is seen as something that doesn't need shortening. Safe to say we're leaning towards her now. Thank you guys again.
