Keep vs. Chrissy?

Oldest boy is named Arlo, and I had decided on the name Chrissy for a girl and fallen in love with it, but then I realized those are the names of two people in pop culture who get violently killed. (Arlo in Hunger Games' A Ballad of Songbird and Snakes gets hung, and Chrissy in Stranger Things is kind of like...possesesed and then killed? smth like that) I had been considering Christina for Chrissy, and then just calling her Chrissy, but would that help any if she's still being CALLED Chrissy? Or do y'all think people will notice at all? Like, if I told you my kids were named Arlo and Chrissy, where would your mind jump? -Dolores

I really like Christina nn Chrissy. It's refreshing. I do not know any of those characters you are talking about since I'm not into those types of shows or movies. I say go for it.

I never read the books (they're not my taste) so I don't have those associations like some people may.

I love Arlo and I think Christina nn Christy would be fine together. Other options are: Christine, Christiana/ Christiane, Christa, Christabel, Crystal & Chrysanthe.

You are sooooo overthinking. I've read and watched all of the hunger games & watched a stranger things and I wouldn't have thought of that. Also Arlo isn't that big of a character so I don't think people will really be making that connection. It would be different if you were naming your kid Sejanus or Primrose.

That being said I still don't think Chrissy works as a stand alone name. I'd go for Christina.

I think that as long as you are not going to keep feeling like the names are bad luck then it shouldn't matter. Not because I think a name can actually give someone bad luck but because it would be unpleasant to you from time to time if you feel like it does anyway. But it doesn't look to me like that's what's worrying you so just use Chrissy itself if you want.

I like Christa but both Chrissy.

Haven't watched those so I don't have any bad associations. Chrissy was my sister's friend in HS. Arlo makes me think of Arlo Guthrie (before my time).
