Sheila, nn Shelly, gmv. Love it.

I never thought of Shelly as a nn for anything other than Michelle. But it definitely works well for any of these. Cheryl was a close second choice, but my heart usually leans Gaelic. Fun fact: Sheila is Gaelic for Cecilia / Cecily. So if you have any to honor it could do double duty. Good luck! :0)

I have a soft spot for Sheila. I just like the sound of it. The only drawback is that it's a mild slang insult for "girl/woman" in Australia.

I like Rochelle too but the fact it's a place name gives me pause. I'm not a fan of place names as a rule unless the location has a special meaning for the parents.

Rochelle is not only retro, it's intuitive for Shelly. I say go for it!
