P.S. The River Lee (Laoi) flows through County Cork, to the south of the River Shannon. What about Lee for a boy?
Afton is a Scottish river and makes a liltingly beautiful name for a girl. Lee and Afton? Just throwing those out there. :0)

Thanks for the comments and suggestions.
Before we knew this was a pair, we had Shannon set as our name boy or girl!
I like Lee, but not as much as Shannon or Dylan. Maybe Shannon Lee? Not sure how I feel about Afton.

I like Shannon for a girl. But it's not terrible on a boy.

I agree with FriedaCat. I like Shannon for a boy and Shane as a nickname (so he has options). Maybe with a J middle name so he also has the option of SJ. I adore Cordelia as well.
Some of my favourite water names: (boy) Kai (sea; ocean), Liron (Liron means song but the nickname Lir means sea and is the name of an Irish god of the sea), (unisex) Morgan (sea-born), Rain.

I really like Cordelia but I'm not fond of Shannon nor Dylan for either sex.
I think FredaCat's suggestion of the vintage Afton is an interesting one. Lee is also a first name that's actually quite rare these days so I think it's a good reco too 👏

I love Shannon & Dylan. Perfect together! I prefer Shannon on a girl. I don't mind Cordelia but I find Shannon much prettier. Dylan is in my top 10 boy names. :)

I know Shannon is unisex, but I've primarily heard it on girls. I like Shannon and Dylan :)
While Lee is a nice name, it is just as ambiguous as Shannon and therefore a bad choice as a mn here. Shannon is fine as a boy name but maybe with something like Kirk or Douglas (dark stream). Morgan is masculine,
Morgana/Morgaine is feminine.
There is also Beck, m (brook) and Undine, f (of the waves)

I have a niece named Shannon and it's lovely on her. But I confess I've always preferred it for a boy. He could use Shane as a nn, but it isn't necessary. Love Dylan (m) too. Good luck! :0)
