Thoughts on vs. the name vs. Bay?

A few years ago, maybe more like 10 actually, there was a TV series on ABC Family called Switched at Birth, where one of the main characters' names was Bay. I've always loved this name, but then the whole "bae" trend came around a few years later and I'm not sure if it's too connected to Bay, even though they are spelled differently. I am originally from California and also like how it pays tribute to the Bay area (San Francisco). What are your thoughts?

I don't think it matters if something is spelled differently when it's pronounced the SAME. "Bae" isn't a fad either since it's short for baby. I'm not a fan, sorry.

I agree with @Namehog & @W that Bay isn't a suitable name.

I like it. I like different names. It totally works. People use different names all the time.

No. And worse if you actually shared that story having used it.

It's not a name I would choose but if I were you I would use it anyway. It's not a rude word and the joke's about bae wouldn't be rude anyway, so I don't think it would be a big deal if you teach your child not to get mad. Because kids get nasty if something bothers you.
