Bennet / Bennett vs. Beckett vs. for a girl

I realize not everyone likes unisex/boy/surnames on girls and I completely understand that it's a preference. All I ask is that you remain respectful, thank you! What are your thoughts on these names and spellings? To be entirely honest, the idea for Beckett came about because I love the name Beckham for a boy, and have been struggling to find a do-able equivalent for a girl other than Rebecca or Becca, Becky, all of which I'm not a fan of. But then I was rewatching some decade-old episodes of Castle, and forgot that Beckett was the surname for Kate, the female detective. In that career field, they often refer to you by your last name, so she was always called Beckett, even though of course it was not her actual first name. In any case, it got me to thinking that Beckett could actually make a great name for a girl! Would love to hear your thoughts.

A lot of tv shows/movies have characters with names that wouldn't translate well into "real life" and I definitely think this is one (two?) of them. Forget the peanut gallery here on BNG, what does your husband have to say?

I think that both names are cute. Bennett is my favorite. I would use Nettie for a nn.

I listen to a podcast hosted by two women, one of whom is named Beckett. It's not my taste, but she's doing just fine.

I think Beckett is nice on a girl. She'll probably end up being called Bex which is a perfectly feminine name.

How about Bentley

No. No, no, no. Surnames have never yet traslated into attractive girl names. Not ever.

That's for her to decide. I think Beckett or the suggestion Bentley are nice.

^ That poor podcaster's full name is Beckett Graham. Which is 100% male. On paper, at least. Something perhaps to keep in mind when deciding. At least that fictional detective had a feminine first name. Just my view.

I know a woman named Beckett so that's why I picked that. She does by Beck (as she doesn't like Becky or Becca) but I do think Becca and Becky are both adorable nicknames. Kit also works as a nickname.

Sorry, ugly.

I'm not a fan of "Beck" names as I find them quite harsh. Bennett is "softer" in sound to me so if you have to choose one, that would be my preference.
