Atticus vs. Alonso / Alonzo

Can't decide between Atticus and Alonso/Alonzo (can't decide the spelling there either). I have some concerns with both names. Is Atticus too linked to "How to kill a mockingbird"? Also we aren't of Italian, Spanish or Latin descent is it therefore weird/inappropriate to use the name Alonso/Alonzo? Name ideas/inspirations are much appreciated. Thank you !

To me, Atticus is very "To Kill a Mockingbird" but it's not a bad thing. I voted for the vintage, English Alonzo because I rarely have the chance to do so.

Yes, Atticus is linked to the book "To Kill A Mockingbird". Both names are ok but they're not favourites of mine. Many parents are choosing names from cultures other than their own.

Yea, I do think it's weird to choose a name very obviously not of your heritage.

I prefer Alonzo. Atticus sounds very harsh (and it starts with the word attic which is kind of weird). Alonzo reminds me of Almanzo Wilder aka Farmer Boy. In naming my own kids I didn't limit myself to names coming from languages/nations where we have heritage.
