She asked for opinions not just no because you don't like it. I wouldn't use it mainly because of the Biblical story. And there isn't any good nicknames.

I see the poll police are out. In my opinion, "no" suffices as an answer because it indicates the person doesn't like it/wouldn't use it.
Moving on, no, I personally wouldn't use it because, like jupiter_sparkles, it's not my style. I do see potential nn options like Betsy, Betty or Abbie (none of which are my style either).

Bathsheba is one of my guilty pleasures but I think it would be a hard name to live up to for a girl.
As far as the Bible story is concerned, I do find it strange - but not surprising - that David is a popular name but he also committed adultery with Bathsheba. A double standard in action. 🙄
