I know an Emmett but he doesn't go by a nickname as far as I know. Maybe Mets, Metty, Etto, E.T., Meta, Mitt, Timmy, or Metto? Maybe you could use his first name initial and middle name initial (i.e. EJ, for example). Or, you could find a nickname that combines parts of the first name with parts of the middle (like if his middle name was Leo, he could go by Elio).

^ Similar to Lilac Lady, the Emmett I know (who's my age) doesn't have a nickname but I like her suggestion of blending a first and a middle to create a nn, if that's important to you.

Initial nickname? What's the middle name? It would be handy if it started with a J. Maybe don't go this route if it starts with D.

I know an Emerson whose family calls him Emmy, but I can't say that I'd recommend that.
