Genevieve vs. Eve

I am pregnant with my first and love the name Genevieve after one of my favorite movies. But is the name to long and princessy for a real little girl? I also feel like I would call her "Eve" so was thinking about maybe just doing Eve instead of Genevieve since I'd call her that anyway. I can't think of any middle names for Eve though. Please help me decide and if you vote Eve comment some middle names please and thanks so much!

I have a friend Genevieve who used to go by Genny when she was younger but now goes by her full name exclusively. I fully recognize the Eve part in Genevieve as well though. I would probably name her just Eve if that's what you plan to call her mostly anyway. I also love the name Evangeline. GL!

I think you should go with Genevieve! You love it. I think it's a gorgeous name! I love the idea of naming her Genevieve and calling her Eve. I'm not part of the camp who says just name her what you'll call her. And who knows, maybe she'll want to go by Genevieve later on. Genevieve has my vote!

I've never warmed to Genevieve as I find the double v's to be harsh but I do like Eve. I think it's simple yet makes a statement. Something along the lines of Eve Aurelia would be lovely.

I adore Genevieve, but if you're going to call her Eve all the time anyway it'll be easier to just name her Eve
