I'm guessing you don't have children? Raising four to five children in this era is expensive, especially once you factor in medical/dental and educational expenses. I'm not trying to rain on your parade but it really sinks in once you have one. I will have two when this babe arrives and then the shop is closed.

I don't have any kids yet I am the youngest of 6 kids and my dad was the youngest of 8 kids and so I grew up in a large family and so with that being said if I ever got the chance to have any kids I would only adopt them and I would want to adopt 12 kids all with special needs

Already at four and we Homeschool. It is doable if you are willing to live further out and limit the extras. Most Americans live in luxury. We don't need tvs, smart phones, tablets, streaming services, to eat out, all new clothes... we can make do with much less and so give our kids an amazing childhood. That being said we bought our house before it got crazy.

I think expectations on family size must vary depending on where you live. Having 2 to 6 kids is fairly normal where I'm from so most of these comments are pretty much in line with what I see in real life.

I'm the third poster and am just replying to the Duggar girls comment.
