Arabelle is the French version of the name so it's legitimate finished & complete. I usually prefer " belle" names to "bella" names.
I speak a bit of French and I've never heard of Arabelle. Regardless, I can't say care for it as the ending sounds abrupt (to me).

What about Ariella? That's slightly less frilly yet retains the -la ending. Arabelle does seem incomplete to me.

I like Arabelle but I love Arabella! I love "over-the-top" frilly girl names. However, maybe it would be best to set it aside and try to find a name you both love.
