Personally, I wouldn't use either fn. I'm not fond of Monroe and Remy brings to mind the cognac.

Not a fan of Remy for a boy mainly because I only know girls named Remy. I just don't think it's a very strong name for a boy, just my opinion.

This is what I hate most about using straight up boys name for girls, the easily swayed are fooled into thinking they might actually belong there. They don't.
Remy John sounds great for your son.
