Mordecai Twin vs. Mortimer Twin vs. Malachi Twin

Went in for my first ultrasound and found out we are pregnant with twins. The only name we are set on is Nikolai. Suggestions are welcome, but we really like these three names. Do not have any girl names picked out and we do not know gender to either twin yet.

I like the names Nikolai and Malachi but they're kind of matchy in sound. If that doesn't bother you, those two would be my pick. I'm not a fan of the other two options.

I would be name Nikolai's twin something like Casimir, Maximilian, Hugo, Conrad, Magnus, Constantine, Ivan, Theodore, Victor, Ludovic, CC Amadeus or Cyprian.

I love Malachi and Mordecai but as said above, I agree the endings as very similar to Nikolai. If you were open to changing Nikolai to something like Nikolas, then Malachi or Mordecai would be great. Mortimer reminds me of Disney as that was the original name for Mickey Mouse. Alternate options: Nikolai and Montgomery or Nikolai and Maverick. If you have twin girls, maybe a "Nik" name would work (eg Nicolette, Nikola, or Nikita).

I would use Mortimer. I don't like that the other names all end in the same sound. I do also like Mor, Mory, Tim or Timmer as nn options.
