^ I think Margot is an elegant name. It's French, so the "t" is silent. It sounds very pretty to the ear. Anyways, I like both of the names Marjorie (really making a comeback) and Margot a lot! Classic and feminine! But I wonder how Mamie is going to be pronounced?

Mamie is a name that can be associated some negative racial connections so I'd advise considering an alternative name. My favorite is Margot, though Marjorie is also lovely.

I looked it up and traditionally Mamie is a nickname for Mary or Margaret.

I'd choose Margaret nicknamed Mamie.
If you're not a fan of Margaret then I think just Mamie on it's own is the next best option.
