I love Billie. Ms Holliday (sp?) has given it a timeless quality. I think it will age just fine. You could use it as a nn for something like Willa / Wilhelmina, Abilene, or Sibyl / Sibylla ("sih-BIL-uh"). Good luck! :0)

I don't think it ages well. I know a 30-something woman named Billie. It suits her fine in everyday use but she has a diploma on her wall and Billie on the diploma is just incongruous. Like it's a joke or something. I feel bad about that.

I'm not a fan of Billie for either gender. I just automatically add goat at the end of it. I'd prefer a full name like Wilhelmina , Willa, Willow, Lillian etc...Will it age well? Not as well as some names but Billie won't be alone. She may fit in with the other girls named Charlie, Frankie, Stevie & Scottie.

Well, it's not my style, but I don't see it as childish or not able to age well. Probably because when I think of the name I don't picture a baby. I think of Billie Holliday and Billie-Jean King.

First off, congratulations!! I don't think Billie will age badly, especially in the world with so many up-and-coming Scotties and Stevies. I would personally give her a longer name (Willa, Wilhelmina, etc.), but it certainly isn't a requirement. People on here tend to be a little extreme if a name doesn't align perfectly with their style, so I wouldn't take the other comments too personally. Billie is a nice name with a lot of history behind it, and if you love it you should use it.
