We have decided on the name Fiona Rose for our second daughter. Our older daughter Isabella Geraldine will be 2 in 1 week. Our dilemma now is picking out a nick name for little Fiona. It’s not like we will be calling her by a nickname, it’s just to tell Isabella, since she can’t talk well. I know nick names usually are just kinda of thought of, but that didn’t really work out for Isabella. We don’t call her Izzie or Bella. Always Isabella. Ah, I’m sorry. Comments are appreciated! I agree. Just tell your daughter her new sister’s name will be Fiona. She will began to say it in her own way until she gets nig enough to say it correctly. Don’t fret over a nn if your older daughter doesn’t have one and you don’t plan on calling Fiona by a nn anyway.
My two year old brother calls me sara, when my name is Ceara (Sierra) Isabella will find a way to say Fiona!

I would tell Isabella that her baby sister Fiona is coming soon, and let her process that. She will either adapt to the name or create her own pronunciation of it as she hears it more often! Who knows, she could come up with a cute little nickname for Fiona all on her own. She’s getting into the stage where her vocabulary will start to increase rapidly, so tell her Fiona is her sister’s name.
By the way, Fiona Rose is beautiful!
