Briana vs. Brianna
Hi everyone! My husband and I have decided on the name Briana/Brianna for our first daughter! The only problem is, we can’t decide how to spell it. Brianna looks prettier than Briana, but we’re afraid that people will say it bree-Anna instead of bree-ah-nuh, which is the way we’re going to pronounce it. Any thoughts? Thanks!!

I think Brianna looks prettier too, and if people say her name wrong just correct them and they’ll catch on. ;)

To me, Brianna is bree-ANN-a, and Briana is bree-ON-a.
If you choose to spell it Brianna, you, and she, will do a lot of correcting until people know her.

If you are Irish Briana is the feminine of Brian. plain and simple. brian is an Irish name. all other spellings are are abominations.

My name is Briana (Bree-Anna)and my cousin’s name is Brianna (Bree-Onna).
Brianna is supposed to be pronounced "on" instead of "an". I know from college English classes and from personal experience.

Brianna is meant to be Bree- Ann-na. Briana is meant to be Bree-On-na.
When there is a double N, you pronounce it as Ann not On.
