We have decided on the name Audra Kate for a girl. Audra is a little less common than Audrey. Kate is after my husband’s late mother. When we have told our family and friends the name, most have not said anything or have offered other suggestions making us think that it is not a good choice. A few said it was pretty. What do you think?

Was your MIL just a Kate, or was she a Katherine/Kathleen/etc?

I just don’t really like Audra - it seems incomplete to me, and honestly a little dated - SORRY. I guess I’m not one to worry about popularity if I really love a name or think it is timeless and elegant. If you really like Audrey, use that instead.

Sorry, I like Aubrey, better. I don’t like Audra or Audrey. Were there any other names you were considering? Audra just sounds harsh to me on a baby, however, if you love the name, it should be fine. You could do Katie Audra or Kaitlyn Audra, nn Katie....not sure if that is what you need, though.

i like it better than Audrey Audrey is played out nobody needs to use it any more i like Audra its really cute and i also like Auden

My MIL’s name was Katy. My niece was named after her so we wanted to use a form of Katy as a middle name. We liked Kate the best as a middle name. We thought Audra was pretty and unique. I had heard of Auden but thought that sounded more like a boy’s name, although very cute. We have had a very hard time with a girl’s name. Thanks for all the comments!
