Davanee vs. from The Note Book

The Notebook is my favorite movie of all time. The granddaughters name is Davanee (Da-vuh-nee) and I love it very much! What do you think of it and can you through me any other spellings? I have come up with Davaney, Davanie, Davany so far. Thanks

Davaney won’t be pronounced the way you like and looks like a typo for Delaney. I like the name though and like that it means divine It can also be spelled Devanee and is pronounced the same as Davanee.

Devani or Devanee Ithink if you spell it with an e it will help people put the accent on the right syllable.

I absolutely love the name!!!!! I have loved the name Davaneigh Ann since I watched The Notebook. Ann is my middle name and I love the way I spelled Davaneigh. It is so cute!!!!!

THIS IS MY BABY NAME TOO! HAHA! SEEMS LIKE A LOT OF US, BUT THERE ARE REALLY SO FEW!

I PLAN TO SPELL IT DAYVINEE, DAYVANEE, DAYVENEE, DAYVENIE, DAYVINIE, OR DAYVANIE... I REALLY LIKE HAVING THE WORD ’DAY’ IN IT... IT SEEMS SO BRIGHT AND CHEERY THAT WAY! (PERSONAL OPINION, I KNOW!) My daughters name is Dayvinie but we pronounce the day part instead I\’d just da ya know n it just makes it sound a bit different bc so many people r falling in love with this name I happen tomb watching the notebook right now i love this movie beautiful just as the name is :) you\’ll get alot if remarks about the name most good but you\’ll get your closed minded person every now n again but what do they know some ones got to come up with new names other wise weld all be named Adam n eve lol just food for thought lol

We have 2 girls so far RaeAnna and MacKenna...Rae and Mac...we are using Dayvanie for our next baby, if it is a girl and we are hoping her name wont get shortened to Dayv (Dave). We also heard it on the Notebook and my Hubby and I love watching that Movie. Its kind of fitting since my name "Chelsea" was taken off a movie "on Golden Pond" that my parents watched on their first date.

I named my daughter davanee like so many others heard it on the note book and fell in love however she gets it pronounced davonee alot that’s the only downside to spelling it this way

i saw this movie & heard the grandaughters name & loved it sooo much that i named my daughter after it- i spelled her name dayvyni & my moms name is diane so i named her middle name dyhann- two very unique spelled names :) when asked where i got her name from, no one remembers hearing the little girls name in the notebook-

I have a 3 1/2 yrs little girl also named DavaneeJun.. Jun being part of my name AliJun... Fell in love with it on the movie..I’m actually surprised @ how many ppl have chosen this name.. I had many different spelling of it but decided to keep it the same.. But ppl miss say it all the time... We pernouce it Dah-va-nee... It’s a gorgeous name & she gets compliments all the time...here are some spelling I had tried out.... Davahni-Dhavanei-Dahvani-Dahvanie hope they help! Good Luck

I am seriously considering the same name I have a Kitalynn (Kite-a-lynn) girl, Hudsen girl, and Alaric (alarkic) boy I love unique names and I am hoping to have another girl. I am thinking Davanee Violet after the notebook and my grandma. I am trying to figure out differnt ways to spell it

My daughter’s name is Davinee also from the movie. Mu husband and I watched it for the 100th time and as I’m bawling my eyes out at the end I wanted to see the credits to see how they spelled the name. We found that if we changed the ”a” to an ”i” it would be our names put together. DAVId and courtNEE.....not even a week later we found out we were expecting. Davinee is now 4 1/2.

I love that name, and the notebook is my favorite movie of all time!!! but I didn’t noticed the little girl’s name in the movie until one restless night I decided to watch it "again".. I was about 6 months pregnant, and I just loved it.. obviously I could not figured out the spelling, since she was prematured, I made it up to be DEYVANNIE. My baby girl is now 5 and she looooooves when I watch the movie, she makes me repeat the part when the little girl’s name is called.. soo cute.

My niece’s name is spelled Daivani :)
We shorted it to Dai.

I loved the name so much, I gave it to my daughter as a middle name. Her daddy’s name is David, so we spelled it Daveny. Perfection in my opinion! <3

I named my daughter who is almost 7 dayvanee Layne ... I loved the name from the first time watching the notebook ... I spell it different then they spell it in the movie so it is pronoticed (day-va-née )

The actual spelling of the name from the movie is Davanee. Can you spell it other ways... Of course but that is the spelling if you look up the information from the movie. My daughter Davanee is almost 11. Named from the movie.

Saw up above someone said the meaning was Dark-haired, but that is actually for Devony (Like Devon). If it is spelled Daveney, it is a place name for a castle in Flanders. That is the only meaning I have seen for this pronunciation, so I suppose the rest could just be considered variants.

Is Davanee a southern name?? Ever since I heard it from the Notebook I thought it was southern since their family is pretty southern, but I think if I were to have heard it somewhere else i probably wouldn't like it, since I really only like southern names for kids.

My daughter is 11 and her name is Davaney. I have loved the name since watching The Notebook years ago. Every time I see the movie on tv, I have to listen to the little girl say her name. I love the way it sounds. My husband's name is Dave so the name was fitting for our daughter.

I was 8 months pregnant & my husband & I could not agree on a name.. he wanted (Sarah) which is a great name! but to me... it was not quite right!!
After a wrestles night I began watching the Notebook on DVD... WHEN I heard the little girl pronounce her name to "ALLY" The Grand Mother I could not believe it! IT WAS My Daughter's name! We Named her: DAVANEE IRIS & YES... "What a Beautiful name HONEY!!! :)

Devany is how I spell mine , I was supposed to be a boy and "Devan" was what my parents had picked. They just threw a y at the end lol

Just wanted to add to this awesome thread that my now 13-year old daughter is named Davanee after the movie also. People always mispronounce it the first time so I tell them we call her Dave or Davey (like Davey Crocket) to hopefully help them remember. LOL Her full name is Davanee Grace. ☺️

I named my daughter Davani, also got it from the notebook! I love her name, but I do feel bad she will have to correct everyone her entire life because they pronounce it Duh- vauhn- ee.

It made me second guess how we chose to spell it, but I like our spelling.
