Giovanna vs. or vs. Giavanna

I want this name to use the nn Gia, but the correct spelling is Giovanna. Should I leave it as is or spell it Giavanna instead?

I love the original spelling! The nn doesn’t have to match the spelling of the name. A nn could be anything you want. I think your overthinking this.

Keep the original spelling. Never compromise. Ever.

Gia is still cute (I call my dog Gianna, Gia) and can easily come from Giovanna.

I think Giavanna is prettier and doesn’t remind me so much of Giovanni. Plus, it makes it less confusing. Some people actually pronounce the o sound.

I would use Gia by itself.

It’s supposed to be pronounced with the O and it is the feminine form of Giovanni so of course it’d remind you of it. Keep Giovanna.
