Madden is a boy name. You can spell it different, but it still sounds all BOY!

We LOVE Madden for our little boy! But the other day someone told us that it sounded girly! We just wanted to make sure that we weren’t giving our little man and feminine name! Thanks for the help!!

Madden is way too masculine to be considered a girly name, don’t worry. good luck!

I love this name too, and have also been questioning whether it would be better for a boy or girl. I really think it is cute for either, but we decided to use it only if we have a boy.

My baby boy will be Madden...for sure! I decided long ago and I LOVE it no matter what anyone says. The only person I know named Madden is actually a little girl so I think it could be either. But I wouldn’t spell it with a Y, just keep the E.

When I first heard the name Maddyn, I though, \"Aww, what a cute girl name.\" I googled it and found out Madden was a boy\’s name. I met a baby named Maddyn and it was a girl. I could never picture a boy named Madden. It\’s just weird.

Therefore, Maddyn for a girl!

I have a 4 year old son named Madden. I absolutely love it & get compliments on it everyday. It sounds very strong to me & I wanted something uncommon but, not to far out there. I have yet to meet another Madden.

Our 5 year old son is Madden. Perfect name for him. Have met one other Madden, boy, same age and one Maddyn, girl. Wife & I both feel it’s masculine and he is definitely ALL boy!

I have a seven year old daughter named Madden. It’s perfect for her. I haven’t met another madden, but heard another parent say their friends have a six year old girl named madden, and I read about an 18 year old Madden boy.
It’s good for either boy or girl.

Madden and Madeleine can both be shortened to Maddy.
I wouldn’t go for Madden for a boy tho, because kids will shorten it to Mad or Madam.

My daughter is named Madden - I always liked the surname-as-a-first name for girls. Definitely works for both boys and girls. When she was in daycare, there were two newborn boys that came a couple years later, both named Madden.

Our 7 year old girl loves her name. She loves the meaning "little dog" especially since she's dead set on being a vet.
Either boy or girl, it's unique, and not corny.

13 year daughter named, Madden.
100% girl name.
Boys named little dog? Not quite.
Ever time she introduces herself, she always gets a comment on how awesome her name is. Suites her personality so well.
