if you don’t know, that’s a good sign that many will be confused and pronounce it the wrong way and your child will find it frustrating. What about Josiah? You could call him Si for a nickname...or Malachi and call him Chi....

A c paired with y will make the soft s sound, not the hard k sound. Simple phonics.

My grandson's name is Cyler. He was named after a great grandfather. We pronounce it Ky-ler. When most people (doctors, teachers etc..) say Sigh-ler. He doesn't like being called Sigh-ler and has even asked why he can't be named Kyle instead.

My son is also a Cyler with a k sound. He is also named after someone and his name is always mispronounced. However we tell him he's an exception to the rule!!! He loves his name!
