Eowyn vs. Rosalie vs. Isolde

Hey, I’m Sammi and I’m 16. Me and my boyfriend are having a baby girl soon, and we haven’t yet decided on a name. We’re both big readers, so (the big dork that he is) Luke likes the Lord of the Rings (which I think that the movie and the book both suck) so he wants the name Eowyn. I, however, love the books Twilight and New Moon by Stephanie Meyer and prefer the name Rosalie. Luke’s mother Tracy, once hearing out argument, suggested Isolde since we both enjoyed the movie Tristan and Isolde (it being one of the few movies we’ve ever seena and liked) and since it was the name of his great grandmother, it would be a good compromise, but we aren’t so sure about the name Isolde Derrick. We could compromise by using one as a first and one as a middle, but which would go first. Or should we use either and go with Tracy’s suggestion? And if not using one of these as a middle name, what should we use as a middle name? Please help, because I have no idea what to do! Thanks, Sammi and Luke

I think that Rosalie Isolde is the best combination. Eowyn is just a mess (no offense) and nothing can really go with it. Rosalie is beautiful, and Isolde is, too, when used with Rosalie. Good luck and have a safe birth!

Rosalie is the only name no one is going to have problems pronouncing, whereas Eowyn and Isolde are names known only to people that know books and opera! Try Rosalie as a first name and, like the person above suggested, something very feminine for the middle name. I might suggest Jane, Kay, Lauren, Priscilla, Heather, Catherine, or Zoe. Good luck!

Rosalie Isolde sounds really awkward to me. Rosalie Eowyn sounds wonderful though! Here are all possible combos of those names you could make:
Eowyn Rosalie
Eowyn Isolde
Rosalie Eowyn
Rosalie Isolde
Isolde Eowyn
Isolde Rosalie
I have a mental block that whenever I hear the name Isolde, I think that that someone is old. Otherwise, it is a very nice name and traditional an underused. Eowyn is a little unusual for a first name, as middle it’s fine. Rosalie could work either way. But first, I must congratulate you. Congratulations on not yielding to the trends and taking a normal name and spelling it uniquely. And for not using a popular name. No matter what combo you use, you girl will be very unique and original. Good luck!

I know this is years after the fact but, exactally how do you pronounce Isolde?? It looks very harsh and ackward. I like Eowyn Rosalie though.
