um...I’ve never heard this name and I really can’t imagine it on a little boy or a grown man (especially a grown man). At all.

I don’t care for it. It sounds like a last name, and the nickname is terrible. Sorry.

Isn’t townie slang for someone that permanently lives in one town? I don’t like it as a name at all, sorry.

It sound like the name a rich, snobby parent would give a kid. Like Rexington, Foxworth, Kingsley, and other dumb names like that. Sorry.

Wow some people are harsh on here...I think that if you fell in love with it go with it : ) I like Townsend just by itself with no nn... Townsend Jack, Townsend Chase, Townsend Shane, or Townsend Vaughn

I’m harsh because I don’t want a little kid to be tortured with a dumb name. I know we all get mood swings while pregnant and can fall in love with things that they normally wouldn’t (for example, I fell in love with the name Kendall when I was pregnant and my family talked me out of it and I couldn’t have been happier that we named our daughter Kelly instead).

That being said, Townsend is a terrible name, IMO. Taylor, Tyler, Terrence/Terry, Timothy, or Thomas would all be nice.

I see the appeal of it with all of the surnames lately but i can’t picture it on a little boy unless it was his last name. I could see if it was your maiden name and you wanted it to be a middle name but it just doesn’t work as a first name.

Townsend Terran?
I think if you love the name you should stick to it, but always be open to other names too.

I’m sorry, and I’m not trying to be overly harsh, but I really don’t care for Townsend at all for a first name. Maybe a mn?
