I usually like Jacob nn Jake and Jason nn Jase, but Jay is a cute new alternative and I think it goes better with Jacob. GL!

I like both. I really like Jason since it’s not as common and is a classic name. Jacob is nice too though. Jay makes a great nn for either one. GL!

Jacob is going to be very popular right now because of Twilight, but there will always be some popular name from a movie or book.
That aside, I think Jacob will age better than Jason. Both are great names and you can’t go wrong either way. It really just depends on whether the popularity will bother you or not.
