Elena is usually pronounced eh-LEH-na. Sometimes it’s eh-LAY-na, but that’s usually spelt Elaina. I’ve never heard of ell-ee-na or ee-lay-na.

I would read that name as eh-LAY-na. I’ve only ever known two girls with that name, and they both pronounced it that way--plus I think it’s the prettiest pronunciation.

I guess is a matter of preference. I am half hispanic and my aunt name is Elena and she pronounce it like El-en-uh and I went to college with a girl that pronounce it E-lee-nuh.

I have always heard it pronounced eh LAY nuh. I named my daughter Elaina (eh LAY nuh) but I have heard it pronouced ee LAY nuh. It is just a matter of preference, I think. Have you checked other sites for a pronunciation? I am sure you will see that it probably varies, like I did. GL! It’s a beautiful name!
