Janice makes me think of the obnoxious character from Friends. however, in honor of someone, you could use either.

In my opinion, I think if you are going to honor someone, go ahead and use their name. If it’s a middle name I think it would great!

Probably whichever sounded best with the first name. I’m actually a fan of Janelle.

If you’re using the name in honor of someone specifically, I would use their actual name so you wouldn’t have to explain to them that you named your child after them...in other words, it’s a more obvious gesture :) Hope that helps and good luck!
