Too close for sisters, but perfect for twins. . . I have a friend who just named her baby Ayla (pronounced the same). Prefer the spelling with an A, but understand using the I to match Isabella. I typically like twin names that have the same number of letters, but you could always shorten it to Isla and Izzy or Ella. . . Isla and Ella is REALLY CUTE!!

They look closer than they sound. I don’t think they’re too close, especially if you call Isabella Bella or Izzy. I know twins named Madison and Madelyn. Now THAT’s too close.

I would keep Isla and go with something else for the other twin. Isabella is too common imo. I think Isla and Bella are nice together.

I agree that Isabella is too common, especially paired with Isla. What about using Ayla and Amelia
Ayla and Amelie
I also really like Isla and Eden (suggested above)

Isla & Isabella are defiantly to close for twins.
Isabella is a beautiful name. What about Isabella & Felicia or Isabella & Cecelia

Isla and Isabella are cute together. Matchy but not overly so.
And don’t worry about popularity. People on this site always go on about how terrible it is to give your kid a popular name, but really, it’s about how pretty the name is and how much you like it.
GL!

I much prefer Isla and Isabella to Isla and Imogen. If you go with another I name, they only one I think goes well with Isla is Ivy.

Weirdly, I think they’re both too close (Isla looks and sounds like it could be a nn for Isabella), and at the same time too different in style.
I’d keep Isla and find something else to pair with it.

I prefer Isabella over Imogen as well! If it were my name I would want to be Isabella for sure. I think you should stick with Isla and Isabella. There are lots of great nicknames for Isabella- Izzy, Belle, Bella, Ella, Ellie (all of which sound great with Isla).

They’re twins. I think their names SHOULD sound similar. It’s expected in my opinion. (they’re practically the same person) lol :)

I like both names but Isabella seems more sophisticated than the trendy Isla IMO.

They’re too similar! Twins are always thought of as "the same person" as someone posted. Why not start out by making them different!

My two daughters names are Isabella and Isla! I had Bella first then fell in love with name Isla and tortured myself for months about whether or not to use it because i didnt want it to be too matchy or close to Isabella. Obviously I very gladly ended up using it and I love both of their names. Honeslty, I really wish i had named Isabella "Isobel" instead and Isla and Isobel wouldve been a cool pair. But oh well....go with the names YOU like and dont worry about what others say!

Ilsa is a form of isabella which is why we aren’t using it for our 3rd if it’s a girl we have isabella and imogen not twins but loved both names and we don’t really want a 3rd I name. I love aria for a girl. Also having two the same initial is a nightmare with post and constantly calling one child the others name but that’s not specifically a problem to same initials my mum did it to all of us as kids and we all had different initials.
