Naya vs. Naiya vs. Niyah

I heard the name Nya (pn n-EYE-uh), and immediately fell in love with it for my baby girls name. But, I did not like the spelling, as it seemed somewhat incomplete to me. With help from another poll, we have come up with these ways to spell it. Which is your favourite? Thank you so much!

If It rhymes with Maia and Kaia, then I would spell it Naia, Nyah, or Naiah.

The name is supposed to have a long "I" in it. I see that in the "Ni" part. pn Nigh like night without the t. but having the "a" in it before the "ya" makes it add and extra syllable. So actually I would pn that name Nigh-ah-ya. Niya would be better.

This is the name I want to, but the spelling drives me crazy. As a teacher, I know she’ll get her name pronounced incorrectly ..and you’re right, throwing extra syllables in just makes it worse. Nia is like Mia (mee-yah)

I named my daughter, Niya :) I decided not to put the h at the end because it would just add extra that is not needed.

I think Naya is the prettiest, easiest way to spell it. Adding and "I" (Naiya) Just adds another unnecessary letter. "Niyah" looks ugly and doesn’t look like it should be pronounced N-EYE-UH. I’d advise you to go with Naya.

My name is Niiyah, I get alot of compliments about it. Though, it gets pronounced wrong rarely, but spelled wrong a lot. It’s just annoying when people think it’s short for La’Niya or something like that.

My name is Naiya. I love it and think it is very pretty. The extra vowels give it character and grace the other names lack, in my opinion.

My friends daughter has this name but spells it Niiyah to excentuate the " i" sound.

My wife and I really like the name but are torn on which way to spell it. We’re having twins and found out it will be a boy and girl. Boys name will be Noah and we have a 3 yr old girl named Nevah (pr: Nay-vuh) so we’re trying to stick with the "h" theme at the end. This forum has helped a lot but am now stuck between Naiyah Niyah and Nyah. I’m looking for input as to which name would least likely get pronounced wrong...I’ve already accepted that it will get spelled wrong regardless, thank you! =)
