Sister vs. For vs. Zane

Hello! I am only seven weeks pregnant with number 2 so we do not know if it is a boy or girl. We have a boy name picked out, but not a girl name. Our son’s name is Zane. What do you think would be a good sibling name to go with Zane?

Zoe, Chloe and Lily were the first names that popped into my head.

Don’t really have any preferences as far as syllables and such, however our last name is kind of difficult to pronounce, so something simple is best. Zane and Zoe was one combo I really liked, but Zoe is such a trend name right now. Plus, if I ever have a third, I might feel like I have to use a Z name. :) In the longer list, Lysia kind of jumped out at me.

Is Lysia pronounced with a short i sound or an ee sound? Another name we have considered is Lydia which is close to the same.

I haven’t heard of Lysia, but I’d say it’s like liss-ee-uh.

Lydia is a very pretty name.

I think Zane goes well with most anything you care to use, as it’s a quite old name but sounds very modern-kwim?

I like Lydia, I think it is gorgeous!! I would pn Lysia the same way except with an s!

The first thought I had was Emma, I don’t know why Emma and Zane are cute together!

Do you care if a name is mega popular? Many of the names suggested including, Isabella,Emily,Sophia.Hannah, Olivia, Chloe,and the Lil-names (Lillian, Lilian, Lily, Lilly, Lillie, Lilly, Lillianna, Lilianna, Liliana, Lillia, Lilyanna, Lilyanne, Lilyan etc) are very very common these days. Check SSA name rankings in US and your state to see how common these names are.

Thanks for all the suggestions! I will write some down. Thanks waterbugwil. I am teacher, and I do check the SSA website often! That is why I picked Zane....it was around 220 in popularity, so out there, but not overused. :)
