middle vs. name for vs. Hollister

Hi, we are expecting baby #4 in a few weeks and we are thinking of naming him Hollister. He has two older brothers, Harrison and Hudson, and a sister Haven. Obviously, we like "H" names and we like names that are a bit different. I try to give all my kids a more "normal/traditional" middle name though. (William Harrison, Hudson David, Haven Elise) I’m stumped on this name though. Any ideas of what would make a good middle name? Thanks!!

I like Hudson and Harrison very much but big Ugh and double Ugh to Hollister.

I am a middle aged mom and I absolutely thought of the teeny bopper clothing store.

It def. sounds like a teen mom name to me, and it’s nowhere near as cool and classy as Harrison and Hudson imho.

How about

Heath
Hoyt
Henry

or, I do like just Hollis, but I fear that one may go to the girls.

Def. better than Hollister, though.

I agree almost 100% with pp, except for the teen mom thing....just because a name is different doesn’t mean it’s a name a teen mom would use.

Thanks for all of the imput so far! I know Hollister is not widely liked, mostly because of the store. But people didn’t like Harrison at first, because it reminded them of Harrison Ford, or Hudson because it reminded them of the Hudson river, and now people love the boys’ names. So... I guess I figured once the name "becomes them" people don’t think of those connotations any more?!

Henry is actually our "’fall back" name! My husband and I couldn’t agree on any other names, I like Holden, he likes Hawke! Secretly I hoped we were having a girl so we wouldn’t have to find another H boy name!

Btw, I had to laugh.... I’m definitely not a teen mom! Ha ha!

Thanks again for the imput.

I like Henry or Hollis much more than Hollister....I’m sorry to say(and I may be wrong) but with a name like Hollister he might be bullied/made fun of in school for it, kids-teenagers expecially can be very harsh when it comes to names. And I personally think with Hollister it will be refered to the store a lot...Harrison and Hudson have become more popular for first names, unlike Hollister.

Harrison, Haven and Hudson are great but Hollister falls short IMO.
Love Holden Murphy!

Hmm.... you guys are definitely giving me foor for thought! We probably would call him Hollis, though I would name him Hollister. Maybe I should focus my energy on changing my husband’s mind about the name Holden!

I think you should keep Hollister or Henry. Holden, Haven and Hudson are much too close IMO.

I like Hollis and Hollister isn’t that bad. By the time the boy is in Middle or High school, Hollister probably won’t even be a store. If he’s known by Hollis, people will call him Hollis and not care if his name is Hollister. Believe me, there are plenty of other names I would make fun of in school (like all the Mykenzee’s and Kaiyden’s.)

Hale
Hayes
Hawkins (for husband?)

Actually, thinking about it, I don’t know if I would keep Henry. Harry is a nickname for Henry and Henry and Harrison might be too close for my tastes (much like naming your sons John and Sean or Jonathan and Jack).
