James Rylan vs. Rylan James

We want to call our baby boy Rylan, but can’t decide which name should come first. James Rylan sounds like a better adult name, but I know he would have to correct the teacher to call him Rylan every time he began school each year. What do you think?

Rylan James sounds better but James Rylan Duke sounds better. Idk both ways sound fine to me. Im prob not much help lol
Well anyways Rylan James would prob be better because of the teacher situation. Even if James Rylan sounds better professionally he’ll still go by Rylan so I dont see that having any significance in naming him.
good luck

I love the name Rylan that is what we wanted to name our baby boy but, the problem we had was everytime we told someone his name they thought we were saying Rylie. So we decided to use Rylan as our middle name.

Even though my husband hates going by his mn I just couldn’t vote for the trendy made-up Rylan! So I went with James, which is so much better!

I really don’t like Rylan but it doesn’t make sense to give your son a fn he won’t be called by, that is just asking for a hard time.

I think James is the best option for his grown-up professional life, how about James Rylan and he goes by J.R.?

I like Rylan a lot. It’s a nice name that is a little more unique.

I don’t see it being a problem in the professional world. It is similar to Ryan which doesn’t seem to be a problem? I work at the HQ of a multi-billionaire dollar co and there are lots of Ryans.

I would just stay away from cutesy nick-namey names bc those won’t age as well and I don’t consider Rylan one of those.
