What do you think vs. of Campbell?
Campbell is a family name from my grandma’s side. I have always loved this name. What do you think of using it as a girl’s name...would she be made fun of a lot? I like the idea of the nn Belle. Please tell me your thoughts on this name and middle name suggestions :-)

Love it, especially if it’s a family name. She might be called "Campbell soup" girl or something though

I do no think she would be made fun of... there is quite the range of unique or unisex names these days. The family connection is neat... and the nn is neat...but I definitly prefer more femine names for girls! Have you considered it as a mn? The nn Belle could still be taken from her mn and that would be a special/cool mn --- not some afterthought. :)

I would never name my daughter Campbell, its too masculine. I agree with first poster, just save it for a boy. Good luck!

I like it better as a mn. It seems too masculine and too much of a surname. I wouldn’t even use it for a boy.

Oh please don’t do that to a little girl! Use it on a boy, and/or go with the name like you said, Belle. That’s still related to the family and so much more attractive for a little girl.
At the least make it a MN. Or else she’ll be explain she’s a girl not a boy for the rest of her life.

My daughter is Campbell Nicole. I was really scared to name her this at first. I never found out the gender of my babies and picked a universal name with a middle name that was distinctly male or female. Now that she is our little Campbell we could not imagine her with any other name. She loves it and doesnt want a nick name. She is feminine and beautiful and does not get teased about the soup. (How narrow minded can some people be!!)

I named my daughter Campbell 22 years ago! It doesn’t matter what your name is, if people want to pick on you they will. I was called Lynn, Lynn the diaper pen and a child. And with Campbell as my surname heard plenty of Campbell Soup and MMM good comments. She has received far more compliments than taunts and her name has inspired many a little girl being named Campbell. My daughter is a beautiful, extremely feminine and strong woman.

My name is Campbell and i always hated my name growing up. My name wasnt a family name or anything. My mom just simply liked the name. When i was in elementry school people would sing the Campbell’s soup jingle when i came in class but when i got to high school i actually got a lot of compliments on my name. Im the only Campbell in my school and my school has a population of 4,000 students! Its very unique.
