I like it very much.
I think it’s classic (Cole Porter, anyone?), although it does have a modern sound.
You could also name him Nicholas or Coleman with Cole as the nn.

PS It’s not girlish at all. There are some posters on this site who stick any random boys’ name on their daughter,but that just means they have a little girl with a boys’ name....sad, really.

Cole to me definitely does not sound feminine. I actually have a younger brother named Cole. :)

I’ve known a Cole and he was ALL BOY and way cute! It’s also unique enough without being weird.
